The Hermantown Boys Hockey Team earned Academic State Champion accolades from the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association (MHCA) earlier this week for having a 3.86 composite GPA, which is the highest in the state.
The Hawks edged out Class AA champions Moorhead, who notched a 3.82 composite GPA.
Its marks the first time in program history that Hermantown earned the distinction.
