Students and STEM

On Thursday, November 16th, Hermantown Community Schools will be hosting a Stempathy Career Event for 3rd and 4th graders. We are hoping to highlight local STEM careers, as a way to expose our young learners to potential career fields. STEM careers, especially careers in computing, are the largest growing fields in the United States. STEM careers include Biology, Computing, Engineering, Communications, Geology, IT, Mathematics, Zoology, Health Care, Trades, and many more. This year we are focusing more on job skills known as Computational Thinking Approaches. These approaches are: tinkering, creating, debugging, persevering and collaborating.

If you or a family member are interested in being at a table as a presenter in this event, please fill out the form below. The time commitment would likely be a three and a half hour window during the school day (likely 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.). Several student groups will rotate around the indoor track to visit and learn from our local professionals. Thank you for taking the time to think about people in your life who may be interested.
