Hermantown’s boys and girls soccer teams opened their seasons with home victories Thursday, led by Vienna Kolenda’s hat trick and a goal-and-assist performance from Quinn Raukar.
Kolenda scored three times as the Hermantown girls defeated North Branch 6-0 at Corey Veech Field. Raukar helped the Hawks boys earn a 3-1 victory over Holy Family.
The Hermantown girls broke open their match by scoring three goals in four minutes early in the second half. Kaija Markovich extended the lead to 3-0 before Kolenda scored in the 47th and 50th minutes to complete her hat trick.
Kaitlyn Patterson and Ryann Knight also scored for the Hawks.
In the boys game, Raukar scored once and assisted on another goal. Hermantown goalkeeper Ethan Aysta made seven saves on eight shots.
