Second-seeded Hermantown lost 2-1 to No. 1 seed Rock Ridge in a Class 3A Section 7 Championship semifinal on Tuesday afternoon at Braun Park in Cloquet. The Hawks rebounded later Tuesday to defeat No. 4 Chisago Lakes 6-4 in an elimination final, and will face Rock Ridge in the double-elimination championship at 3 p.m. Thursday in Hermantown. A Hermantown win would force a second game, with the winner advancing to the Minnesota state tournament. The Hawks are 16-7.
BASEBALL
No. 3 seed Hermantown will host No. 6 Rock Ridge in a Section 7AAA high school baseball first-round game at 4:30 p.m. today at Fichtner Field. The Hawks (12-0) defeated the Wolverines 13-2 in Virginia in the 2026 season opener. Rock Ridge is 9-11.
