Mirage Hockey

The Proctor-Hermantown Mirage will open the 2025-26 girls hockey season this weekend with a difficult two-game northern swing that will immediately test one of Minnesota’s most consistent Class AA programs.

The Mirage begin Friday night at powerhouse Warroad before traveling to Roseau for a Saturday matinee — a rugged road debut against two perennial state contenders that will set the tone for a loaded November schedule.

Proctor-Hermantown will make its home debut Nov. 15 against Edina, followed by a stretch of six consecutive home games through early December. The slate includes visits from Moose Lake Area (Nov. 18), Orono (Nov. 21), Rock Ridge (Nov. 25), defending state champion Andover (Nov. 29), Grand Rapids/Greenway (Dec. 4) and Blaine (Dec. 6).

The Mirage will close out the opening month with a key Lake Superior Conference matchup Dec. 9 against Hibbing/Chisholm.

Proctor-Hermantown, which has become a fixture in the state tournament conversation over the past decade, returns a deep core of veterans from last year’s Section 7AA runner-up team. The program again expects to rely on disciplined defensive play, strong goaltending and balanced scoring to stay among the state’s elite.

Junior forward Taylee Manion is an elite player to watch.

Puck drop for the season opener at Warroad is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.
