Members of the Hermantown Track & Field Team opened competition at the 2025 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class AA Boys and Girls Track & Field Championships Wednesday morning, with sophomore Martin Sleen advancing to the finals individually in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash, and also as a member of the 4x100 meter relay team along with Tanner Homstand, Grant Johnson and Corban Peterson.
Sleen finished with the second-fastest time of the day in the 200m with a time of 22.11, while finishing fourth in the 100m with a PR time of 10.76. His time in the 100m also ranks No. 14 in the state record books.
The 4x100 relay team finished eighth in the prelims with a time of 43.0, which ranks No. 36 in the state record books.
Evan Senst finished 12th in the shotput with a throw of 48-00.75, and Adaeze Enemuoh notched a 10th-place finish in the girls 100 meter dash with a PR time of 12.49 and an 11th-place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 59.40.
Homstad will begin Thursday's events for the Hawks as he is set to compete in the long jump beginning at 9 a.m., followed by Aidan Adamski in the discus throw at 10:15 a.m.
The 100m finals are set to start at 10:16 a.m., the 4x100 relay at 11:37 a.m., and the 200m finals at 12:50 p.m.
