Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

Hermantown Community Schools takes pride in providing solid, well-rounded, quality programming that prepares students to be responsible and productive citizens of tomorrow.  The district’s curriculum is reviewed and aligned with state standards.   A District Curriculum Advisory Committee (CAC) comprised of parents, community members and staff meets regularly to provide input and make recommendations regarding curriculum. 

The role of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction is to collaborate and communicate with all staff regarding:

  • Collaborate and communicate with staff and CAC regarding review, research and alignment of an EK-12 curriculum.
  • Recommendations and oversight of the purchase of curriculum within budget parameters.
  • Analyze multiple points of data to identify the effectiveness and needs of programming.
  • Identify and coordinate the delivery of professional development activities that are aligned with the needs of staff, curriculum and programming.
  • Planning, training and administration of all required testing.
